Dr. Jerry Oveson retired from dentistry and dedicated himself to serving families that have a child with disabilities. Motivated by being the father of a child with Spina Bifida, Jerry has worked as a regional director for Alabama’s Individual & Family Support Program in southern Alabama. Dr. Oveson, a graduate of Northwestern University Dental School, has served on many committees, commissions, and work groups that have focused on disability issues. He also has served as a regional coordinator for Family Voices a national grass-roots organization advocating for services for children and youth with special health care needs. Jerry currently volunteers his time to serve as Director of Family Support (Individual & Family Support of South Alabama, Inc.)
